The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating after firefighters found a man’s body while they were battling a brush fire. The body of an 86-year-old man was found off U.S. Route 60 in Hurricane.

Troopers looking for home invasion suspect

West Virginia State Police are looking for a man who they say is armed and dangerous. Fifty-three-year-old Tracy Parsons is a suspect in a South Carolina home invasion, and is now believed to be in West Virginia. Troopers are looking for a stolen, gray, Ford F-250 pick-up.

Charleston Town Center will pay almost $980,000 in taxes

The Kanawha County Assessor’s Office has reached a deal with Charleston Town Center on the mall’s appraised value for tax assessment. The mall will be appraised at 52-million-dollars, which amounts to an assessed value of about thirty-million-dollars. Town Center will pay almost 980-thousand-dollars in taxes.

Former WV Supreme Court Justice Passes Away

Former West Virginia Supreme Court justice Richard Neely has passed away. A spokesperson said Neely died at his home in Charleston on Sunday of recently diagnosed liver cancer. He was 79.
