Former state Supreme Court Justice Richard Neely has died at the age of seventy-nine. He was diagnosed with liver cancer about a month ago. Neely was a member of the Supreme Court from 1973 to 1995.
The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating after firefighters found a man’s body while they were battling a brush fire. The body of an 86-year-old man was found off U.S. Route 60 in Hurricane.
West Virginia State Police are looking for a man who they say is armed and dangerous. Fifty-three-year-old Tracy Parsons is a suspect in a South Carolina home invasion, and is now believed to be in West Virginia. Troopers are looking for a stolen, gray, Ford F-250 pick-up.
The Kanawha County Assessor’s Office has reached a deal with Charleston Town Center on the mall’s appraised value for tax assessment. The mall will be appraised at 52-million-dollars, which amounts to an assessed value of about thirty-million-dollars. Town Center will pay almost 980-thousand-dollars in taxes.

Santa will make his first appearance at Charleston Town Center the day after Thanksgiving. Mall officials said Santa will follow health protocols when he arrives at Town Center on Friday, Nov. 27. Reservations are encouraged with walk-up visits available as space allows throughout each day.
Tamarack is set to reopen this Friday, Nov. 13. Tamarack has been closed since Oct. 29 after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
